Contactless Payments Highest in the UK

A recent report in Payments Journal1 notes that contactless payments in the UK have risen from around 65% of face-to-face transactions before covid to 87% today.

This puts the UK above any other country in the uptake of contactless payments.

Of course, the pandemic accelerated this trend as people were worried about handling cash – or even tapping their PIN number into a card payment machine. But the use of contactless has set in – especially with the limit now having been raised to £100.

This means that if your business only accepts cash you are turning away a lot of willing customers who would gladly buy from you if you would only accept card payments. (You can read more about that on our Cash vs. Cards page.)

So now really is the time to start accepting card payments. You can Get Started Here.
